Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone, born on 5th January 1986 (pronounced as [diPIka Paduko or [paDukoor [paDuko]), is an Indian actor in films. She is most often seen in films that are primarily Hindi-language. It is among the top-paid actors in India with her accomplishments that include three Filmfare Awards. She features in listings for the country's most renowned stars; Time named her one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in the year 2018 and gave her the TIME100 Impact Award in 2022. Padukone is the daughter of the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was raised in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. As a teenager, she played badminton in National level competitions. She later walked away from her profession in sports in order to be a fashion designer. Soon, she began getting offers to appear in films and her first performance was that of Aishwarya, the Kannada lead character. Padukone also played a two-part role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007) that won her an award called the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone's lead role on the film Love Aaj Kal was well received, but it came with an unfortunate setback.
