In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song during the course of the space of six months. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Soon, other artists collaborated with Reggaeton stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton artists were complaining about the trend of their genre to the mainstream. However, a younger generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was keen to continue the evolution. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music, as well as different styles was an accepted practice.
